What is Odisha Subhadra Yojana

Subhadra Yojana is an important scheme by the Odisha government, which aims to provide financial assistance to the poor and underprivileged sections of the state. The government has named this scheme after Lord Jagannath’s sister Subhadra. 

Under this scheme eligible women will get 50,000 Rs. Over 5 years. It means they will get 10,000 Rs. every year. Government will give them 5000 rs. two time in a year on a special occasion.

The main objective of the Subhadra Yojana is to help women from economically weaker and backward classes. Women can use the financial assistance received under the scheme to meet the expenses related to their family’s livelihood, health, and education. 

Along with this, making women aware of their rights and making them self-reliant is also the main goal of this scheme.

  • Under this scheme, women are given financial assistance of up to Rs 50,000 in 5 years(10000 in a year), so that they can fulfill their needs.
  • The amount provided under the Subadhra scheme encourages women to enter the field of entrepreneurship. They can use this amount to start their own small industry, shop or other business. 
  • This scheme is especially for women of rural and urban areas who are financially weak. Through this, the Odisha government is taking a concrete step to make women self-reliant and empowered.

Residence: It is to be applied by a resident of the Odisha state.

Gender: Only women can apply for the yojana.

NFSA/SFSS Coverage: The applicant should not be covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) or State Food Security Scheme (SFSS). But if not, then the family income should not be more than Rs. 2.50 lakhs.

Age: The applicant’s age should be 21 to 60 on the qualifying date (July 1st of the financial year).

Financial Assistance: The applicant should not be getting any other financial help from the State or Central Government over Rs. 18,000 per annum.

Subhadra Yojana Eligibility Criteria

Government Benefits: Any woman receiving financial assistance of Rs. 1500 or more per month (Rs 18,000 per annum) under any state or central government scheme is not eligible.

Government Positions:

  • Member of Parliament (MP) or Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) at present or previous.
  • Income Tax Payee
  • Whoever is elected public representative in any Urban Local Body or Panchayati Raj Institution (other than Ward Member/ Councillor).
  • If they are employed as regular or contractual employees in the State Government or the Government of India, or a Public Sector Undertaking or Board or Local Body or Government organization, or receive a pension after retirement. 
  • These include, however, those who are engaged through outsourcing agencies or in receipt of honorariums like ASHA, Anganwadi workers, etc. (provided that the rest of the conditions also get satisfied).   
  • Any Government Department or Undertaking or Board or Organization of the Government of India or State Government or any elected organization that is in the journey of conversion or recognition.   

Vehicle Ownership: A person who is an owner of a 4-wheeled Motor Vehicle (except tractors, mini trucks, small commercial vehicles, and other similar light goods vehicles).   

Land Ownership: If the applicant’s family owns more than 5 acres of irrigated land or 10 acres of non-irrigated land.

Subhadra Yojana Ineligibility Criteria

  • Aadhar Card – (Identity proof)
  • Ration card, electricity bill or any other – (Address proof)
  • Mobile Number linked with Aadhar Card
  • Single Bank Account with DBT Enabled
  • Passport size photograph

Women can apply for the Subhadra Yojana in two ways, Online and Offline. For the Offline process you have to go Anganwadi centres, block offices or urban local bodies. And for the Online process Mo Seva Kendras and Common Service Centres. 

Women can apply for Subhadra Yojana online through the SUBHADRA portal. But they have to go to Mo Seva Kendras or Common Service Centres

You just need to fill the form and submit it at your nearest Mo Seva Kendra or Common Service Centre. If any discrepancy is found between the information on your form and your Aadhaar card, the Aadhaar information will be considered final.

All applications will be verified based on the data available with the government, and may also be verified in the field if required.

All applicants will have to give a self-certified declaration of their eligibility under the SUBHADRA scheme, meet certain conditions and complete the e-KYC process. Face-authentication will be provided for e-KYC, which you can complete by entering your Aadhaar number on the SUBHADRA mobile app.
